Signal

Privacy policy

Signal is a personal hub made by Neocarte Nuanced for one owner's email, contacts, calendar, and newsletter digests. Contact think@neocartenuanced.com.

Google data

If the owner connects a Google account, Signal asks for access to:

Signal uses that data only to show the owner's own mail inside the app, including the contacts, calendar, and newsletter digests built from it. It is not used for any other purpose.

Microsoft data

If the owner connects a Microsoft account, Signal asks to read and send that account's mail and to read and write its calendar. Signal also reads the account name and address to confirm which mailbox was connected. Microsoft data is used only inside the app, for the owner, in the same way as Google data.

Storage

Signal stores a copy of this mail, and the contacts, calendar items, and newsletter digests made from it, in Supabase. The copy exists so the app can show the owner their own information.

No selling, sharing, ads, or model training

Signal does not sell this data. Signal does not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or other products. Signal does not use it for ads. Signal does not use it to train third-party AI models.

When mail sorting or newsletter digests are turned on, Signal may send the text needed for that feature to the configured model provider. That is only so the app can show the result to the owner. Signal does not allow that provider to train its models on the text.

Deletion

Signal deletes stored data when the owner asks. Email think@neocartenuanced.com to request deletion. Disconnecting a Google or Microsoft account also deletes that account's saved connection and Signal's stored copy of its data.

Google API Services User Data Policy, Limited Use

The use of raw or derived user data received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Limited Use means Signal uses Google user data only to provide the features the owner sees in the app: reading their mail, sending mail they write, and showing their calendar. Signal does not transfer that data to others except as needed to provide those features, including storing the owner's copy in Supabase, or as required by law. People do not read the data unless the owner asks, it is needed for security or to comply with the law, or it has been aggregated and no longer identifies the owner. Signal does not use Google user data for advertising, credit-worthiness, or lending.
